If you have both Kindle and an iOS device (iPod, iPhone, iPad), this app is designed for you. It lets you send articles you find on the web to your Kindle or other e-reader for easy reading.

You can input or paste URL and then preview the page in this app. When you want to send the page to your Kindle, click one of the "send" button. You could choose send the page as HTML or Plain Text format. If you send the page in HTML format, Amazon service will convert it to the Kindle format and push to your Kindle. If you send the page in plain text format, the HTML to Text engine in this app will convert the page to UTF-8 text file and then send to Amazon service. This app supports all kinds of encoding pages including east asia languages such as the Japanese, Chinese, Korean.

To use this app you will need to know your Kindle email address and add your sending email address to your Amazon approved list.

If youre unsure what your Kindle email address is, or if youd like to change it, you can visit Amazons Manage Your Kindle page (http://www.amazon.com/gp/digital/fiona/manage). The page is split into multiple sections. The section which lists the e-mail address is Manage Your Devices (youll find the link on the left-hand menu). You can also find it in your Kindle devices setting page.

Amazon will only delivery articles sent to your Kindle email address if the senders address is in your approved list (it silently discards emails which are sent from addresses not in your approved list). So to ensure articles to reach your Kindle, you will need to add your sending email address to the approved list. To add an address to your approved list you will have to visit Amazons Manage Your Kindle page again. The section youre after is called Personal Document Settings (youll find the link on the left-hand menu).

Enjoy!

A lot of potential - but, not now.
I saw that ReadIt offers Kindle users a simple way of downloading web pages (specifically text type) to your Kindle Docs, for reading on your Kindle device. There are lots of articles I see that Id love to be able to have easily, and quickly portable. As of this writing, however, that is really not yet possible. When you download the ReadIt app, youre given almost nil instructions, just a note, that you should make your email address an approved address on your Kindles address list. As far as the instructions go - thats ALL. ReadIt appears as a browser-type window, and, you put the pages address in the address bar. Your page appears, and, in the upper right youre given two choices: send as text, or send HTML. As I need to download the text, I chose send as text. I KNOW that there are oodles of ads on most web pages, but, heres where things fall apart with ReadIt: Once your intended webpage begins to load, youll see the address bar QUICKLY start changing. In a flash, youll see (what I believe to be) all the ads originating homepages on on your page quickly appear/disappear in the address bar. Once thats stopped, the address in the address bar is NOT the page you wanted address, but... well, it looks to be one of the ads addresses. You hit the option for download: I chose TEXT. Having seen these ads in the address bar, I was prepared to have the download be riddled with them. But, it wasnt. In fact, it didnt DOWNLOAD. ANYWHERE. Youd think that an app like this, which has the sole purpose of getting docs from the web to yourKindles docs would pad the, TO YOUR KINDLES Docs. Apparently, it doesnt. Something was downloaded - to my email. But, it wasnt the text I wanted. It was an email saying the email to Kindle did not include any attachments. I got... Nothing. I sent an email to ReadIts makers. I told them of these problems, and, I do assume partial blame - only because the directions are almost non-existent, but, aside from that, ReadIt needs some fixing. If that happens, Id be only too happy to re-review ReadIt at a later time. But, until then, ReadIt holds only promises that are unfulfilled.
My iPad crashed after I try to send article to Kindle
App does not work properly. My iPad crashed after I try to send article to Kindle. And my iPhone cant send article properly. Ive got not readable text on my kindle. Very bad app.
Simply awful
The formatting of web pages sent to the Kindle is atrocious; most are unreadable, whether sent in text or HTML and whether the quick download switch (whatever it does) is on or not. I use Kindle It with Firefox on my PC to do the same thing from my computer. The formatting is incredibly good. Readit for the iPhone, however, is horrible. I wish I had my money back. I wish I could give it less than zero stars.
Does not work as advertised
This app simply transfers HTML SOURCE CODE to the Kindle. It has no use ! Please Apple do your job and approve this review ( my second), and most important, suppress this app before it is tested.
Doesnt work
If this app did what it advertises it would be great. Id rather read web articles on my kindle, that Ive found while browsing on my laptop. But I have not been able to get this app to work.
